Manipulative ParentsAre you the kind that feels guilty about buying a new dress or going out to have an ice cream.

Read on to know what the Bible says about providing for yourself and giving yourself a little treat.

We now go to Psalm 37:3-4

“Trust in the LORD and do good; live in the land and be safe.

4 Seek your happiness in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desire.”

So, from this it is clear that God wants you to be happy as long as you don’t go over the board and that your own happiness is not all that you are living for and dreaming.

So, go ahead and get yourself that new outfit you planned to wear for Christmas. He wants this for you and we know you want that too.

You won’t forget to thank Him in the end, will you?

And for that, let’s go to Proverbs 5:18-19, which says,

“So be happy with your wife and find your joy with the woman you married — pretty and graceful as a deer. Let her charms keep you happy; let her surround you with her love.”

From this, you can clearly state that gratifying yourself within marriage is sacred, and anything outside of it is a sin.

So, don’t feel guilty about that. Go ahead and love your wife as the Bible says.

Does God Care About Our Physical Needs?

girl reading BibleYes, the truth is that we have a God above who is always watching out for our well being and does want us to be unhappy or have anything lacking.

This is clear from the New Testament where we get a glimpse of how Jesus went about with His ministry, curing the blind, healing the sick, delivering those in bondage and making sure that all God’s children are happy.

But in the end, remember that it does not stop there, but with the commission in Matthew 10:9

“You have received without paying, so give without being paid.”

And this is what the Bible says about self-satisfaction, that it is okay to an extent, as long as it is not at the cost of our neighbor’s need, for that is when it leads to greed.
